THE PLG HALL OF FAME
Although we have a few people in mind, we would like to hear suggestions from the community first. Who do you think has been a positive force for our neighborhood and deserves recognition? Email me.

The Maple Street School
Perhaps the greatest PLG success story of all times in terms of neighbors getting together to create something truly special for the community. Over the course of almost 30 years The Maple Street School has had a lasting positive impact on the lives of countless kids in PLG and beyond. The school describes itself as a "a parent cooperative, non-profit, racially mixed, non-sectarian preschool serving Lefferts Gardens and the surrounding neighborhoods in Brooklyn, New York." Wow... Hats off to the pioneers behind the school's creation and to the current leadership and staff including Wendy, Ann Marie, Nelcia, Barbara, Soraya, Jacqueline, Cecile and all the newer folks we don't know but are undoubtedly awesome as well.
The mysterious person behind "Across The Park"
This relative newcomer's anonymous blog has brought new life to our neighborhood's online world. Without ATP, there would be no PlanetPLG. Creative, irreverent and very, very funny, we hope ATP plants firm roots on this side of the park. For the record, after being blindfolded and driven around Lefferts Manor for several hours by ATP's handlers, we were brought into a small dark room and finally permitted to meet ATP in person. The shocking secret is safe with us!
The owner and staff of the Thriftway at 542 Flatbush Avenue
Courteous, efficient and extremely helpful - this pharmacy is a keeper. If they don't have it when you need it, they find someone who does. If your insurance company has a problem, they're on the phone trying to help you fix it. You usually don't have to wait long and they treat everyone with respect. We'll keep coming back and we suggest you do the same.
We are just getting started and are actively seeking nominees!
Email us with suggestions.
